If this is your first time to Athens we would strongly advice staying close to Plaka and Acropopis. This is the area with amazing vibes, restaurants and shopping opportunities.

When you land the taxies are easily available and we recommend taking taxi from the airport as it is a quick ride.
We would recommend you to download the apps Bolt and Uber as both of them are the only way of getting a taxi.
Where to stay in Athens for sightseeing?
The best place to stay in Athens is near the Acropolis in the Plaka or Anafiotika neighborhoods. This will put you in the center of the action and within walking distance of the Acropolis, Roman Agora, Library of Hadrian, and Syntagma Square. Both neighborhoods are picturesque and quaint, with narrow pedestrian-only streets, many restaurants, and interesting shops.
